Please help ladies!
I went dress shopping for the first time on Saturday and fell in love with Mori Lee 2511. They only had it in ivory, which appeared to be a darker ivory – almost champagne (but so beautiful!). I couldn’t decide what color I wanted it in (they did not have any Mori Lee dresses in white to show me) so I’m supposed to call them and let them know which to order.
My concern is the dress is satin with beading over the bust, I’m afraid that the beading may look cheap with the white fabric and not have the gorgeous sheen their ivory satin has.
Does anyone have any experience with the Mori Lee satin gowns and can vouch for the beauty of ivory vs white??

I don’t think it will look cheap.
Do you have any pics or references? Its hard to say without seeing it with the naked eye.

What is your colouring? If you’re more fair they say ivory is more flattering, whereas if you have an olive skin tone white would be a better bet.

My dress is Mori Lee Blu #4861 in white and it is WHITE. But I love it! I didn’t think I could pull off white but I can and it doesn’t look cheap. I think its the fabric that makes it look cheap, not the color. Maybe go to another store where they have something, if not your dress, in white and see what you think.

IVory is usually more flattering than white.

You might want to verify the color, Mori Lee has many different colors including Champagne and “Candlelight”
I used to work at a bridal store and nothing from Mori Lee looks cheap, they were my favorite designer we carried!

I have a Mori Lee dress in white…the ivory looked sort of yellow on me. I love the white, I don’t think it looks cheap at all. Both colors were very pretty (I tried on the sample in ivory), so try to see which one complements your skin tone best.

My dress is Mori Lee and it is ivory duchess satin…I love it. I tried on a few other Mori Lee’s including one that was another type of ivory satin which did look much more like a champagne color.

@pinkclover: I just order my dress in an Ivory color from Mori lee, I can truly say its the best Ivory color I have seen from diffrent designers and the beading is not cheap looking. My dress has a sash with all crystals and pearls and its just the right sparkle and vintage look I was going for.
