I’m after some feedback on this dress. It felt lovely on and I liked the pale ivory colour and the style. I was on my own when I tried this on so I’m wondering whether others think it’s flattering or not? The bridal consultant was lovely but I’d like unbiased opinions!
The consultant said it’s a size too big so she was unable to tie the corset as tightly as we would have liked to give me shape. I’m very much an apple shape so would definitely get the dress altered to fit properly.
I’m an encore bride and 41 years old. I don’t want anything too poofy and would rather no train. I will not have a veil either – just a hair piece. As I’ve left the purchase of my gown to the last minute I’m just buying off the rack.
Any constructive feedback back is welcome. Thank you

@Akeru: I love the neckline, the waist and the bottom. What bothers me is the way the two wrap pieces meet over your right breast and make sort of a point. I’m wondering if that could be adjusted or sewn a bit differently? Or maybe it will correct itself when fitted. Or is it just the lighting that makes it look that way?? The material everywhere else drapes so elegantly and I love the color. It looks comfortable to wear. That’s my unbiased opinion! lol I’m also an older (and encore) bride – and want to add my best wishes for every happiness to you!!! 🙂

@Astra: Thank you for your thoughts on the dress and your best wishes. It’s exciting doing it all again but I wish the dress purchase was a bit easier!
I can can see what you’ve pointed out. I’m thinking it may be the sizing or perhaps the folds of the fabric weren’t sitting quite flat on that side as I didn’t notice it in the shop.
I did try on a couple of other styles and my thoughts were that this particular style was the most flattering to my apple shape. My only hesitation is that it’s a fairly popular style choice now for plus size brides. I had a friend get married in an almost identical dress a month ago. I’d like to be more unique or make it more unique but not quite sure how?
So many decisions!

@Akeru: I think you look beautiful, classy and elegant! And honestly, I don’t see you as having an apple shape AT ALL in this gown…you just look shapely and lovely! I do, however, note that fold that @Astra: mentioned…do you think the seamstress could just stitch that little peak down? Otherwise…perfection!
PS: I too am an encore 40-something bride and I wish both of you much happiness!

@MissMiaMarch: Thank you – congratulations to you too. It’s nice to talk to ladies in similar circumstances! I can see the fabric sticking up now but I’m sure it could be tacked down properly By a seamstress.
Good luck with with the planning ladies.
