Hello Beehive!
I purchased Mori Lee 1923 this weekend and I’m having second thoughts about the size I ordered. The store manager quickly measured me (with light bra and undies) and gave me a 33.5, 24.5, 36.5, and all 3 consultants recommended I go with a size 4. After reading some blogs, it seems that the Mori Lee dresses run quite small and I’m worried the dress will be too small, particularly on my hips if the measurements were at all off. Does anyone have advice on Mori Lee sizing?

@kristinaz871: I ordered a mori lee and it’s right in line with their sizing chart. I found it to run about 2-3 sizes larger than north american street sizing

I also ordered a Mori Lee. Style number 1802. My measurements were almost exactly the same except my bustiline is 1/2 inch smaller. They recommended that I order a size 4 as well and it fits me perfectly.

@kristinaz871: I ordered a Mori lee -style 5106 size 12. my normal clothes size is also a 12 so i was quite surprised that it wasnt any different. I havent tried on mine yet but the sample in the store fit perfectly. I guess if your does come in small there may be room to work with taking it out a bit…? Good luck!

Based on a measuring chart I found online you are a perfect 4.. with my experience with Mori Lee they run pretty true to size. I tried on a mori lee dress size 8 and it was too big.. The dress size I ended up ordering was 12 and it’s a Vera Wang gown.

kristinaz871: I had a Mori Lee for my wedding in January and I was on the cusp of 2 sizes based on their chart and was told to go to the one up. I ended up having to do a ton of alterations which cost $400. I had to take a HUGE amount from the bust, kind of made me sad LOL, not sure who they were making the dress for but it wasn’t for my girls!
My dress was a corset style and I could have gone with the the 12 which was 2 sizes up from my street size.
It also depends on the style of the dress as mine was corset which can be must more forgiving.
I would say if you were right on with the chart that you shouldn’t worry.

kristinaz871: How did your sizing turn out? I am also between two sizes (a 6 and an 8). I am 33 – 27 – 37, so per the size chart I am a 6, except for the waist. I am worried about spending a ton of money on alternations though! I am getting the 6774 which is also a low back, so not sure how much the waist will matter…
Help!!

I am 33-26.5-37 and ordered a 6. Fingers crossed it fits with little to no alterations. I am more worried about the waist measurment and the length. I ordered the 55 inch length and am 5’4 planning on wearing flats

I am a street size 12/14 and I ordered a size 14 dress. It’s a ball gown and I have a small chest- so I didn’t have to worry too much about the hip area. When it come in it fit rather good- I barely needed any alterations.

jennybearcutie: It fit perfectly and didn’t need a hem. I was worried at first, so I got flats just in case, but was able to wear a small heel about 3 inches.

my wedding gown and a gown I recently purchased for a pageant were by Mori Lee. For both I had to size up because I have what some people call a donkey..aka..a huge butt. But you sound pretty proportionate so you should be fine with following the size chart. How much time will you have for alterations once it arrives?

Msmangotango: Thank you I was really worried that it would be too short. You have put my nerves at ease. I ordered Morilee 1350 in October 2015 and the dress will arrive on March2016. The wedding is in May28,16.
