@mepayne:  that sounds a bit too early for me, only in that some guests may not make it on time plus what time would you need to be up for hair & make up?

Maybe 10am but anything earlier seems well too early haha.

Your guests may not make it on time(if they arent staying the night before) and they might be half asleep and yawning through the ceremony(not exactly romantic).

I think that’s way too early. I would say 10 or 11 at the earliest.

I have seen in done on wedding blogs.

here is a sunrise wedding in FL with just family.  They had donuts and mimosas on the beach, parted their ways for naps and relaxation.  Then cooked a big dinner at their rental house in the evening.

This couple had a sunrise wedding too.

Honestly, I’d talk to your family and see if they are OK with your idea.  You said it was small and mostly family anyway.  Will most of them be driving in the day of?  or there the day before?

I live between St Pete and Tampa, evenings in June don’t really cool down. the hottest part of the day is between 3-6 usually. A brunch reception sounds really nice, a friend of ours actually just did that. I thinkabout 10 am would be good, that is just my opinion .

I have been to a wedding that was held at 7am on top of a mountain…It ended up being the most SPECTACULAR wedding I have ever been to. There was a low lying morning fog then we got the sun rise.

She also had coffee and tea served when the guests got there.

It was followed by breakfast (every breakfast food imaginable).

Her wedding photos were the most beautiful I have ever seen.

It’s too early.  And in order for you and the rest of the bridal party to be ready at 8, you’d have to get up at like 3.  No fun for anyone.

@mepayne:  Based on my own wedding and all the others I’ve been in.  If you don’t need that much time, then you won’t have to get up as early.
