2:00 pm…its the latest the Catholic Church will marry you on a Saturday.  We would have loved a 4:00 p.m. ceremony though.  Our photographer says our timing is perfect because in this area, 3-4 is the best for light etc for the fall.

our ceremony is at 4pm on a Friday and we’re already hearing people complain about how they’ll have to leave work early…

Tell them wah, they don’t have to come =]. We’re a 6pm wedding since the location only does 11am weddings and 6pm weddings….6 til 11 it is!

We didn’t really select the time.

We basically rented a venue for the day- We have access to it starting at ten in the morning. Guests cannot arrived until 3pm at the earliest. And the party ends at ten or ten-thirty in the evening. The ceremony and the reception are on the same grounds- and no one else has access to the site except for our guests that day. (which I am so glad for- so many other places you would share the site with other lay people or other wedding celebrations). I think it will turn out ok because it gives me time to sleep in, primp and dress and take some early day photos as well as later in the evening/night photos.

But I am glad it isn’t a morning ceremony- because I would have had to wake up earlier! And we are not morning people…

6:30 for me– it had to be before (2 pm) or after the Catholic mass… so I picked the later time slot.

We will probably do late afternoon because the plan is to have a nice dinner with our parents after our ceremony. (We’re not having a reception.) This way we could go right from the ceremony to dinner.

We picked that because I desperately wanted two things: my venue and my date.  Had to go with what they had left!!

@marquisemiss…I would so love to just have a quiet dinner with our families right after the ceremony…talk about a money saver! But we’re surging ahead with a buffet-style dinner right after our 5 pm wedding. I wanted natural light at the park where we’ll be married, but cooler temperatures in Orlando at night, less humidity, and some great pictures as the sun sets.

Ours starts at 5:00pm.  We didn’t want it to be too hot or get too late in the evening for pictures.

We are getting married on a Saturday morning-original time was 10 am, but I am pretty sure we are moving it back one hour to 11:00am. We are having a brunch reception immediately following the ceremony. Part of the reason is that there are many children involved (including my 5 year old twins) and we needed to avoid nap time. We also have quite a few guests from out of town, who will be making this a day trip. We have also found with reception planning, that brunch food is alot less expensive (and super tasty to boot!)
