Hello, everyone! I have a little logistical snafu I’d like an opinion on.
Fiance and I chose a gorgeous, affordable golf club venue. At the time, we didn’t realize that it was not close to really anything – hotels and the hair salon are each 30 mins away from the venue and each other (think like a geographical triangle). We can’t get ready at the hotel bc the room is too small to accommodate 8 people (3 bm’s, 1 bride, 1 MOG, 2 HUMA’s and 1 photog). We can’t get ready at the venue bc we aren’t allowed in until 11am, and the ceremony is at 3:30. This leaves us with getting done at the salon (which is fine bc it’s a beautiful space) and putting on dresses at the bridal suite at the venue. I already spoke to the venue about leaving the dresses overnight to breathe, and they said that is great. That ALL being said….
I am trying to choose the best option for transportation to get everyone where they need to be on the day of. 5 women need to get from the hotel to the salon, and from the salon to the venue. 4 guys need to get from the hotel to the venue.
My options are:
- Hire a transportation company to take everyone where they need to go for an estimate of $655. PRO: I have a contract saying they will be in place to drive us, and a reputable company to interact with. CON: Most expensive option
- Book Ubers for the transportation for an estimate (done online) of $309.73. PRO: less expensive CON: drivers could just not show up and there’s nothing I can do about it at the time, and could possibly be unclean.
- Rent a nice vehicle and get a family member to drive us around for maybe $500. PRO: less expensive CON: we would have to pick up the vehicle beforehand, and ask someone to drive us around.
What to do, Bees? Is an extra $350 for transportation too much for “insurance” to be sure the cars would show up? Thoughts, please!
ETA: we can’t get ready at my home because I don’t want to be maniacally cleaning in the days leading up – I want to relax and enjoy this season of life. Also, we already booked a limo to take the attendants and their spouses home at the end of the night, so no one would have to leave their car or drive drunk.
