Oh I LOVE Moroccan Oil, I got hooked on it right before our wedding and it’s the best. My hair has been frizzy and wild since I was a kid and it finally tames it. I use the regular treatment, I put a little on from the mid-lengths of my hair to the ends before blow drying and a little after to add polish. Knockoffs don’t hold a candle to the actual Moroccan Oil. It’s worth every penny, I swear. And if I went through the list of things I’ve done to my hair that’s at the last 4-5″ (my hair reaches just a little passed mid-back) everyone would wonder how it hasn’t just snapped off probably.
I have a cosmetology license (I had a period of time when I was younger and didn’t know what I wanted to do so I went to cosmetology school :p ) and I can get it at the professional beauty supply for MUCH cheaper than the salon. If you have any good friends or family with a cosmetology license or are cosmetology school students, ask them nicely and they’d probably get it for you at the professional beauty supply if you just give them money for it. 😉
I love how it makes my hair feel, hahaha. For once in close to 20 years I don’t look at my hair and think “STRAW. I have straw on my head,” and it’s nice to run my fingers through it.

Has anyone ever tried Josie Maran’s Argan oil? I was thinking of picking some up from Sephora.. apparently it can be used for your dry hair, dry facial skin, and on your cuticles!

I’ve been using MoroccanOil for about 4 years now and LOVEEEE it! MoroccanOil is actually the brand, and the product is the oil treatment…I have a bottle w/a pump, so I use 1 pump into my palm, rub it into my skin really well, and then run it through my hair before I blowdry it. I have really thick hair, so for many people this may be too much oil. I find it helps smooth my hair, keeps moisture out, and makes it just so much nicer overall. I have tried a number of Argan Oils, but IMO they all just suck. They dont rub into your hair as well, and usually stay kind of on top of your hair and make it appear greasy, and they don’t have the same effect as MoroccanOil. I’ve also tried MoroccanOil shampoos and conditioners, but the one I tried was sulfate free and didn’t bubble enough for me. I also use It’s a 10 spray leave in conditioner everyday before I use the MoroccanOil, and I have to say I have exceptionally shiny, healthy, soft, thick hair. Not to be a jerk, but everyone is always commenting on how great it looks. Maybe try both? 🙂
FWIW-I wash and blow out my hair every single day, 2x on Fridays.
here’s their full line of products:
this is the it’s a 10 spray

@kaoh88: If I had to compare agran oil hair serum, I prefer using PrettyArgan over Josie Maran’s argan oil, and especially over Morocan Oil. Just by comparing the ingredient list for each of the bottles, you can see right away that PrettyArgan is more pure and less chemically formualted.
In regards to the PrettyArgan’s pure argan oil, which is different that the argan hair serum, it is priced better than Josie Maran’s.
See for yourself.

I love morrocan oil! I use it after I get out of the shower and I don’t wash it out. It smells so nice and makes my hair so straight. Love!!

I love using this on my hair! Definitely keeps it nice and soft and I get so many compliments on how shiny my hair is! I use the “light” version for blonde hair, 1-2 pumps (my hair is super thick) after I shower. I dont wash it out either! I use it in combination with a blow dry spray and this definitely speeds up dry time!

Overrated for my hair. I have fine light highlighted hair. Stuff just made it greasy and I bought the spendy kind too. For my hair nothing else works like Alterna. They have an overnight leave in product that is heaven!

I have oily hair, but I use a little moroccan oil at the ends, and it is wonderful!
