I just had the most mortifying thing happen to me!
I’m 14 weeks pregnant and I have an adorable belly bulge. i normally can wear jeans to work, but today we had clients in so I had to wear dress pants. After trying on every pair that I had, I found one pair that fit ok with a rubber band and belly band.
To clarify, the pants fit ok in the morning, after I had peed and thrown up (terrible MS!) and before I had eaten breakfast.
However, we carried in lunch today and after the meeting, I went to use the bathroom. Well bees, full stomach + full bladder = pants WOULD NOT come off. They literally got stuck between my belly and my hips and would not budge an inch. I was DYING because I had to pee SO BAD.
So, I ripped my pants off (hangs head in shame). I ripped the fly right open and split them down the crotch. I figured it was either that, or pee myself. Thank god my belly band was able to cover most of it. But now I’m cowering at my desk with my legs crossed until the end of the day when I can sneak out of here with my coat on.
SO MORTIFIED!! Please share your pregnancy embarrassing moments so I don’t feel so alone….

I don’t have any personal stories, as we aren’t TTC yet, but I think this is one of my favorite: http://www.amalah.com/amalah/2008/03/a-story-that-i.html

@ExcitedScaredBee: Lol oh noooo. I thought it was going to be so much worse, though. You will look back on this and laugh 🙂

I admit that made me LOL. Time to start carrying yoga pants everywhere as spares. 🙂

Ohhhh my gosh, I am so sorry, how embarrassing! I won’t lie and say that this really made me laugh, though! Haha! I haven’t had anything *too* embarrassing happen yet, besides letting out a pretty loud fart at the in-laws the other day. Just because the one before was silent, doesn’t mean the next one will be I guess! Hahaha :- if they heard it they didn’t act like they did, but Darling Husband did and sure gave me a look. Whoops! It’s either let it out or hear me complain about gas cramps! 😛
ETA: I don’t know if you have seen the movie What to Expect When You’re Expecting, but that scene where the blonde girl is walking up the stairs to the other young girl’s baby shower and she farts and her husband is all, “OMG honey, what is that smell? Is that you?!” Has totally been me pretty much my entire pregnancy so far…poooor poor Darling Husband, I think I have really blown him away with how nast my farts have been. Pun intended! Hahaha

Im not sure I would call that a “mortifying pregnancy situation”..i was bracing to read something really awful/morbid

hahahahah that is awesome
I don’t have a story about myself but about my best friend and Maid/Matron of Honor.
a few years ago she was majorly pregnant – she’s a small person (regularly a size 0 and about 110 lbs) and she had a similar day as you… dress pants. we work together and she was sitting across the aisle from me. she went to the bathroom and then a few seconds later i get a text asking me to come to the bathroom. i make a beeline in there.
me: hey what’s wrong!
her: i split my pants
her: yea i couldn’t unzip them so i just ripped them open
her: do you have a sewing kit?
me: have we met? … of course i dont.
her: well…what are we going to do…
me: I don’t know
she came out and showed me and she’d literally ripped them from zipper through the seam all the way to her butt… so… there was no way she could exit the bathroom without the whole office seeing her underwear.
I went back out to my desk and got a stapler.

@MrsBtoBe14: have you been pregnant yet? If not, and you plan on becoming pregnant sometime in the future, you will be amazed at how much your size can change in a matter of a few hours like OP said! I think pants ripping in the crotch is pretty damn embarrassing/mortifying…haha

Aww! I’m newly pregnant, and I don’t think I’ve considered the dilemma of not being able to remove my pants. This is good information to have, and I will remember to wear dresses and keep extra pants in my desk.
The end of the day is near… you’ll make it!

You poor thing, that is pretty mortifying.
I had already planned to send my assistant to our CA office for a couple weeks before she got pregnant, and she’s having a really rough time. The least I could do was get her a belly band as a gift before she left. Sounds like it helped then, but now her pants fit – poor thing can’t keep anything down and has lost 11lbs. I think before that she was on her way to a similar situation, though – her pants were juuuuust fitting and not looking comfortable.

I’m so sorry that happened to you! I did laugh a little bit though…
I have definitely embarrassed myself more than once throughout this pregnancy.
I turned into an idiot the day I got my BFP… as in, I did laundry with no laundry soap, tried to start my car with my housekey, forgot about prior engagements, etc. Typical pregnancy brain stuff.
Also, I came to work one day in some pants that have the stretchy band, but not the full panel. No biggie, I was wearing a maternity shirt, so whatever. I had been at work for at LEAST two hours when I went to test the eyewash in the nurse area…and when I leaned over the sink to turn it on, I realized my belly had been HANGING OUT THE WHOLE TIME!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn’t have noticed at all if the coutner weren’t so cold! I nearly died, and from that day forward I made sure to check in the mirror before I left my house. Ugh.
And more recently (as in last week) I was getting in my car after lunch, and as I went to step in, my foot didn’t raise as high as I had intended. I “tripped” into my car and fell forward onto the steering wheel, honking it loudly and obnoxiously as I attempted to lumber my body back into the seat. Wow.
You’re not alone, and this probably isn’t the last embarrassing event in your future :/ Hang in there though!

Awwwww how embarassing! I agree, start carrying a pair of yoga pants or leggings with you, haha.

Oh, wow. That’s super embarassing. I did have a good laugh reading though. I haven’t done anything super embarassing yet (11w2d, and not much bump happening) but I’ll update when I do.
PP that suggested yoga pants is a genius. I may just stash a pair in my desk in case of emergency.

Oh man! I’m glad you are able to “hide” until you need to go home. I’m going maternity shopping this weekend and never even thought about the possibility that my pants could get that tight. This is definitely a heads up! Going to buy an extra pair of yoga pants/gauchos too to keep in my car just in case.
