I got married at another venue in the area, but I attended a wedding at the Thornhill building in Morton Arboretum about a month ago. It was beautiful and was an awesome spot for a wedding. The only downside was that it was a November wedding with the ceremony at another location… so by the time the reception started and guests started to arrive at the location (5:00), it was completely dark outside and you couldn’t appreciate the beauty of driving into and through the Arboretum. It was just a drive in the dark along a one lane road to a random building. I think if the wedding were during a different month with a later sunset, it would have made people appreciate the location more.

I flew in to Chicago and attended wedding there not too long ago and heard how beautiful the surroundings were but when we arrived around 6pm it was really dark, couldn’t appreciate the beauty. We end up having a blast at the wedding, except towards the end when it was over, felt rushed out by staff, several guests we’re still kissing bride and groom goodbye. Seemed like they wanted everyone out within 5 min of wedding ending. Seen poor bride’s mom and bridesmaid rushing to get gifts and flowers out while staff stood there rushing for people to leave. I felt that was a bit rude. Other than entire wedding was beautiful.

I *just* went to a wedding there a couple weeks ago. It was beautiful! Gorgeous location and I know the bride and groom got loads of amazing pix on the grounds.
