yazmid13 :  I’m waiting on a ring from them too. If you look them up on this website there are zillions of threads, some bad, some good. My view on it is you always hear a dissproportionate number of negatives. Way less people bother to create a post of “I ordered a ring and then I got the ring, the end” rather than people who do have a poor experience. Every company has good and bad reviews if you look for them.

If you do come across some problem reviews, don’t forget to check the date. I found some and was terrified that something was going to go wrong, but many of the reviews I was reading were 6-10 years old.

It seems like overall there are more bees on here with moco rings who are pleased than not, but I’m also on the edge of my seat a little bit. Of course we don’t see all the nasty reviews until after we’ve sent the money haha

yazmid13 :  I ordered with them and was also worried after all the bad reviews. I went with a simple bezel and my transaction, customer service, and ring was all perfect and fairly fast. They told me 11 days from the day i ordered and the ring was done right when they said it would be. I love that they ship with fed ex instead of the other carriers. Waiting was a pain but its worth the outcome. I hope that you have no regrets with your ring and it all turns out great.

The other issue is they stalk these boards (or did, not sure about now because things have been pretty quiet regarding them) but they have been known to hold customers pieces hostage until they take their negative threads down, or offer compensation if they remove them etc. It’s very very shady, so I think for all the positive reviews out there, there very well may be many more negatives. I even had someone PM me because she didn’t want to post anything negative on the boards in fear of retaliation by MoCo. That’s a whole other level of messed up.

For loose stones or stock pieces, I think you’re pretty safe because it’s my understanding that they just get them from Stuller. Custom pieces, from what I’ve read on here, can be a different story. More than one Bee has questioned the ring she received only to be basically gaslighted by MoCo who refused to take responsibility.

I hope they’ve upped their game. When I’ve communicated with them about quotes and general questions, they’ve been amazing. I’ll give them that. I haven’t ordered anything because I’m apprehensive to give an unethical company my money, and after the whole side stone debacle, well………

michellelynn9175 :  My understanding is that the Chinese moissy companies are doing that – ie paying customers and/or otherwise holding their pieces hostage to take down bad reviews.

Mrs.Bill :  Well that’s just as shady too. And really disappointing!!! Do you know which one specifically? Just provide decent customer service and admit you’ve made a mistake and maybe you wouldn’t have to bribe folks to remove negative comments. Doesn’t seem that difficult really.

Not trying to stir the pot, but wasn’t it Tianyu that had asked a member here if they could take down their negative review and issue a discount?

I haven’t been a member for very long but I do recall seeing that when doing a search on Tianyu.

supanovastarr :  Yes – pretty sure it was Tianyu and I think Starsgem as well! Check out Pricescope under Fabulous Fashion Jewellery. If I have time later today, I’ll try to find the post.

Mrs.Bill :  yeah you are right. It’s on page 45 of the tianyu thread on pricescope. The head on the ring the girl received was crooked and the stone was also set crooked. She got an estimate from her jeweler to fix it and tianyu refused to pay. Once they saw her post they offered $100 for her to take it down but she refused so they didn’t do anything for her. I don’t think starsgem has ever offered hush money for someone to take down a post though.

bdare16 :  yeah, I don’t recall Starsgem pulling that, but maybe they did and I didn’t see it. The only thing I saw on Pricescope that was bad was when Starsgem sold a yellow-tinged marquise. The buyer had to push back to get them to pay for the return shipping, refund, etc. It sounded like it was a mess, but I didn’t see anything about bribery or hush money.

Mrs.Bill :  You’re thinking of Tianyu. Their service has gone down since becoming popular. I have purchased from them and was fine, but won’t be going back for custom rings due to certain issues I had with couple of my rings. I would only go back for certain round cuts.

With SG, I heard they give ppl refunds when asked and have been known to remake rings for ppl before it’s shipped out if they’re not happy. I think someone got a fancy cut they didn’t like (too yellow?), but wanted SG to pay all the postal cost back. Like a cut they usually didn’t sell on the regular. Most companies don’t even pay for the postal back. But that’s what I heard, I could be wrong on the story.

I also know bees that have return loose stones to SG and got a refund. They might not be happy, but they’ll still do it. I had 2 of my rings remade by SG before it got ship out because the final products didn’t look like my CAD.

Back on topic of MoCo, I had bad experiences with them for my original e-ring. I was even asked to take a thread I made about them down. It happened around the same time Hissoon had her issues so I managed to get a refund. Since then I had given them other chances by getting something off the rack from their Sale section. And I did get a loose stone from them. All went fine. I was hoping they’ve corrected certain quality and customer service issues.

luckyrabbit : I’m pretty sure that I read something about SG on Pricescope or Reddit but I don’t have time right now to find the post. Maybe you’re right and I’m confusing Tianyu and SG. I sure hope I’m wrong ’cause it would be nice to know that there are still decent vendors out there.

My fiancée had an amazing experience with them. They’re extremely helpful with questions and concerns and are happy to help. I think the shipping was about 3ish weeks or so I’m not 100% sure. My ring is my dream ring, it’s gorgeous it’s heavy and well made, my main stone is stunning and the ring has 51 stones total., I’ve been engaged for over 8 months and I haven’t had a single issue with loose stones or snagging prongs not a damn thing lol.we love my ring and he loves how easy it was to work with them.
