    Living in London, the most common type without a doubt seems to be a round cut solitaire on a yellow or white gold/platinum band. Very minimalist design. Cluster designs are also common. I see older women with more rubies and sapphires, or yellow gold and huge clusters of diamonds! 

    I have only ever seen one or two other (obviously not including me) people with a halo.
