Aquamarine! I’m a March baby, and I hate it. It’s such a plain, not happy stone. I always sub it with blue topaz when I get stuff with my birth stone.

I’m also not a fan of citrine. I just don’t like the color of it.

Rubies. For one, I hate the color red. For another, as a kid I always imagined rubies being very sparkly and pretty. Now I’m older and finally realize that true rubies arent very sparkly. They actually look like hard pieces of candy to me.

I also dont care for yellow stones.

And lab created opals. I LOVE real opals (except fire opal) but the fake stuff is just ugly.

I don’t really hate any, but I probably wouldn’t buy any yellow stones, they just don’t appeal for some weird reason. Not fan of anything yellowish/tannish/brownish hued.

Don’t like white/clear stones either. I wouldn’t buy or wear white diamonds or white sapphire or CZ or non-colored moissanite or anything, because I find them a bit boring. Fine for other people, but I’d rather have a stone with some color. (Black counts as a color to me in terms of gemstones ;D)

Black diamonds. I honestly don’t see the appeal, there’s no depth and no sparkle. I also dislike citrine because of the color and white sapphires for the glassy sparkle and sort of hazy quality they have. .

Black diamonds! I don’t understand them, and this is coming from a girl who loves black, even black onxy! I adore black onxy.  Everytime I see black diamons all I can think is “Was it just to say she has a diamond?” I just don’t get it. They are pretty expensive and they just look like … a lump of coal. :C They make me sad. It makes me think of something I would have picked out when I was 14 and I thought goth was cool. But to each their own, for all the bees who have/love them, i’m happy you adore your ring! 😀

Sorry, that turned into a rant of sorts. I think they remind me (especially the black diamond halos) of women who outline their lips with black liner. Yikes!

Irradiated colored diamonds.  I really really don’t see the point.  I’d take heated over irradiated any day.  Most gemstones are heat treated and that’s generally accepted and show in price.  But irradiated colored diamonds are really expensive because they are still diamonds even if they are generally terrible quality diamonds.  I think my least favorite irradiated colored diamond is blue.

Not much of a fan of diamonds. yes you heard me correctly diamonds. But theres some in my ring so i deal with it. I think diamonds are boring and the blood diamond trade makes me sad. I dont wanna have to think someone in africa had to dig under their house for a stupid rock thats on my finger 🙁

@MissSweetiepie:  I have a white sapphire, and I never see cloudiness unless it needs a cleaning.

I don’t care for peridot at all, even though it’s my birthstone. I love green, but i dont like that shade in particular. I think emeralds are gorgeous, though.

Rubies that look like plastic, eneralds that look like plastic, Opals because my grandma drummed into me that they’re bad luck unless they’re your birthstone.

Irradiated blue topaz (especially London Blue). Because I love blue, and the London Blue color is particularly nice. But irradiated. In a nuclear reactor. With residual radioactivity left in the stone. That’s like, my least favorite thing, ever. So I feel like it’s like Snow White’s poison apple. Looks so nice, yet is anything but.

There is such a thing as natural blue topaz but it’s rare and very pale blue. No beef with that topaz, only the irradiated ones.

@mepayne:  Ugh, same. My grandma was born in November and all of her rings are blue topaz lol. Anything brown/mustard yellow (but I like yellow diamonds), etc. And peridot. Not a fan of that shade of green.

And lab-created colored stones because the colors look really fake. :
