Wow, he was really trying to instill a lot of confidence in you, huh? /s
It’s sad that her outlook is so bad. I don’t really know what to say when she gets like that so I tend to clam up and try to ignore when she’s rude and hug her instead. I do think she’s out of line but she’s also in a lot of pain and often laments that I’ve “been in a relationship for so long/have a stable one/have someone that loves me” etc etc. It’s unnerving. But what can you do? Her ex was awful though so I definitely think later on she will be happy to be rid of him.

I totally understand. I am always talking to my Fiance about things I learn about my stone (it’s a moissy and I’m completely crazy for it) and he just patiently indulges me and tells me he’s so happy I love my ring. π I wonder if it’s secretly driving home crazy though…
Seriously though, your teal sapphire is insanely colorful and moody. Your ring is really making me want to get one now, like for a necklace or to you know, just stare at.

dook : teal sapphires are GORGEOUS!! It is so different in different lighting. For example:

Green/blue

Light blue

Not a great photo but straight up green

Almost a navy/jean blue
I freaking love it!!! I just told hubby that I wanted a teal stone…I would have been happy with anything that colour but he blew me out of the water with it.
You should TOTALLY get one!! You won’t be disappointed π just promise to show me if you do…I’m obsessed with them π

“Oh it’s not as bad in person as I thought it would be”
“I would never wear that, but that’s just me”
Both from my unmarried bridesmaids who wish they were engaged/married. It’s really sad when jealousy gets in the way of being happy for a “best friend”

I am a very outdoorsy kind of girl and not a huge fan of any type of bling so my fiancée handmade my engagement ring out of African Bubinga wood. So when my boss saw my ring and heard the story of how he proposed her response was “he made your ring and wrote you a song???? that’s it, I want a do over!”. π

Old thread but I’ll play! I actually get NO comments, ever. I guess people think it’s really plain. It’s not though if you look closely – it’s an antique cushion cut and I’ve never seen another one IRL in my area. I get love on here though!! I adore it.

Oh I’ve had a few good ones! The ironic thing is, most people don’t realise my three stone ring is Moissy, and I don’t feel it necessary to correct them!
Just the other day a shop assistant grabs my hand and calls her colleague over for a look. ‘Oh wow, I’m guessing that’s all you’ll get for a while, that will do for your engagement, wedding and eternity ring!’ Not sure what I was supposed to say to that? π
oh and my Mother-In-Law thinks we dropped a tonne of money on something so inconsequential.. she can think what she likes and we can chuckle about it between ourselves!

“How big is it? Oh…yeah, I wouldn’t accept any less than that. Mine has to be at least twice that size, I don’t want to feel like I’m settling.”
From a (formerly) very close friend. My ring is a 1.5ct moissanite, so it’s hardly small.

My favorite so far was “is that a sapphire it’s SO DREAMY”!! That made me feel good. It’s not a conventional choice but I love it so much. Many asked “is that your birthstone?” Nope it’s just exactly what I wanted!

My soon to be Brother-In-Law: Purses his lips and rolls his eyes upon seeing my ring and then ‘playfully’ pushes into my Fiancé.
“That’s way too much, man! Too big. Too much.”
This was to my morganite ering (.30 equivalent) before upgrading to a moissanite. (.80 equivalent.)
I guess he thought the micro pavé was too much? I really don’t know! (I just recently upgraded to a moissanite ring but definitely not showing him that, he might think we spent millions on that one!)

So interesting reading all of your stories β€οΈ
We’re not engaged yet, but my boyfriend told me I could show the pictures of the ring to one friend so I had someone to talk to about it besides him (there is only so much he can say to my “loooook how it sparkles!!!” π)
I was texting my friend Julie, and she wrote: “It is so much prettier than Elizabeth Taylors” (refering to the Krupp Diamond π)
We had been talking a lot about different looks of engagementrings and how they look on my fingers (like Elizabeths – whom I adore! – fingers with her Krupp Diamond).
My ring is different than most of the engagementrings I have seen on he and irl. It is an half-eternity with 35 small diamonds forming 5 “flowers” set in YG.
