Cute thread idea…

I won’t forget that it was like 99 degrees on a July night…just sweltering. He surprised me with a night’s stay at a B&B and a packed bag for me, filled with random things including lots of socks…which I had no use for on a 99 degree night. 🙂

I “forgot” to look at the ring…but not really. It freaked him out a little, he was thinking why isn’t she looking at it??? I wanted to say yes to his proposal before saying yes to the ring.

@Mz Izzie:  HAHA well a part of me was screaming “MY RING! MY RING!” on the inside. To be fair, I knew something was up when I showed up at a banquet hall that was supposed to be full of my FI’s co-workers having a get together and it was just him, a table with candles and roses, and dinner for 2. So I was waiting through the whole dinner for that ring to pop out. It wasn’t really sprung on me so I had time to think about how I was going to react when I came “face” to “facet” with it. Pun intended, haha! I love when I do that.

1. That Darling Husband said “And I love *insert DS’s name*….”

2. Everything after that, which was all the parts he loved about me. lol All I could think & my first response was “You love DS too?!” lol

Most memorable: I was holding a (covered and contained) sample of deer poop in my hand when he asked. Just to make it clear — I’m a vet student, we were walking in the pasture and I was totally clueless as to what was going on, I saw the poop and picked it up to take to class and analyze.

What I forgot: The absolutely beautiful speech he gave after I said yes… it was sooo amazing but I was completely high in the moment and I can’t remember any of it!

PS, I dropped the deer poo when I saw the ring…

My poor Fiance put so much time into his proposal, bought flowers, made a nice dinner, candles my favorite cd playing in the background…..he proposed we just sat down to dinner and the phone rang one of my employees didn’t show up to work and I had to go back in. I got a proposal and had to fire someone all in the same hour.

He didn’t technically “propose” but I remember our let’s-get-married conversation, and about an hour later I turned to him and said “Wait so… are we actually getting married?”

The lady sitting at the next table in Bryant Park who yelled “If you didn’t show up, I was going to take it!”

It felt very classic New York.

Most Memorable: He sat next to me on the mountain looking out at champlain lake, and asked me if I still loved him. (The mountain was not my friend) When I said yes he looked at me and asked if I loved him enough to make him supper, I said yes, and then he pulled out the ring and said Forever? I first responded with Are you serious? Then I of course said YES! lol

I now don’t really remember why I thought climbing the mountain was so hard, and I’m thinking about doing it again this summer.

@mkathleenwhite what a bummer! I would not have been happy if something like that pulled me away after getting engaged.
