lilredcat :  i think overall Blue sapphire is probably the most common colored gemstone used in rings. But morganite has definitely become a popular gemstone choice especially for engagement rings. My personal favorites are London blue topaz and Garnet.

I’m an emerald girl, but think blue sapphires are also so lovely for engagement rings. Both are timeless.

I agree that blue seems most popular. Mine is a natural colored aquamarine, at my request.its my birthstone but also I just find them to be pretty… diamonds bore me on their own due to lack of color, but accent it nicely and give it the sparkle it’s missing.

I love my blue sapphire and I do think that’s the most popular gemstone choice. Peachy/pink colors seem to be on the rise though.

I really like mint sapphires and morganite, but generally dislike color and gems. I do see a lot of blue sapphires, especially in a 3-stone arrangement with white stones.

I mean, I have to go with ruby because that’s what I have. But there’s no denying that sapphires are the most popular, probably because of Princess Di’s. My skin tone works out a lot better with red than blue, which had a pretty big impact on my choice.

I love morganite! Not sure how popular they’ll get as engagement rings because they are not that durable, but they’re beautiful. And Darling Husband knows how much I want one for a RHR.

I put blue sapphire because I see it pretty commonly, and because I have small blue sapphires alternating my middle ring in my stack. But right now I am lusting over a montana blue sapphire BADLY.

I picked blue sapphire because I believe that’s the most popular, but I love amethysts (I have those in my wedding ring), alexandrites, tanzanites and all colors of sapphires, especially the lighter purple ones or color changers.
