I’m not a huge fan of chair covers. The design for them doesn’t seem to have changed over the past 20 years.

We did chair covers, only because renting chairs would have been much more expensive.  If you can afford the chairs, go for it!

As a guest, I don’t care for chair covers because they are uncomfortable to sit on. Also, you can’t see or appreciate them once you’re sitting down.  If you absolutely must have them, I would much prefer Chiavari chairs and then put the rest of your money toward something the guests will actually notice and remember such as food/drink/entertainment or put it toward photography.

well I’d say neither.  They are a waste of money in my opinion.  But if I had to choose, I guess chiavari chairs since they look pretty.  But they also look really uncomfortable.

I would have loved to have chivari chairs, they look awesome.  However, renting an 8-10 dollar chair was just not in my budget.  Also, I have never found chair covers uncomfortable to sit on.

Chivari chairs come with our venue, so I prefer those, and we are just adding a sash to them.

I would go with what you like the best and what fits best with your budget.

So thankful my venue comes with chiavari chairs… I think they’re so elegant and pretty.  🙂

I prefer the look of chiavari chairs to chair covers. BUT, they are sooo uncomfortable to sit in! I’m really small and I feel like I barely fit on the seat :/

Chiavari chairs are so pretty (I voted for them)! Chair covers & sashes do look kind of dated because they’ve been around forever, but its a way better option than ugly chairs…

i say neither as well – not a fan of chair covers – they always look so 80’s. and chivari chairs? i really dont get the big deal. you sit on them. does it really matter what kind of chairs they are as long as they are comfortable???

The cost is what made the difference for me. The venue had ugly blue chairs that had seen better days,so covers made them tolerable. The chivari chair rentals would have been more than $1000. for the short time they were being used,so definitely not worth the added expense.

I never understood the appeal of Chiavari chairs, they just look like normal chairs to me. We are doing chair covers with sashes because the venue chairs are awful. I like adding sashes that match your wedding colors because it helps tie everything together nicely.

There’s a company that is very good.  I’m using them for my wedding next year.  They deliver to PA, NJ or NY.

They are running a special on Chiavari chairs for $5.  You can call them directly.
