Most ridiculous wedding things people said – what's yours?

I had a small Las Vegas wedding. We had a champagne cocktail hour in my moms penthouse suite followed by a dinner in a restaurant at The Wynn. Apparently one of my guests (a girlfriend of mine and my sister) was kinda dissing my dinner to my sister because it wasn’t a formal reception with music, dancing, cake cutting etc. Then after the wedding I was texting this same girl about how it’s boring without a wedding to look forward to (just kinda joking around because I was looking forward to the wedding for months) and she said something about how I didn’t even have a reception. And I was like….I had two receptions in two different locations. Fed you lots of champagne and cake and dinner on my parents’ dime. It was strange and insulting!  She also didn’t give a gift. Not that I care about gifts necessarily but just sayin’.

After a beautiful ceremony with our closest friends, my Dad, God bless him, said to me ” Try and make this one stick. I’ve been married before, which lasted 13 years!”

amp0803 :  sorry to hear that. What he said was below the belt cruel, don’t blame you for feeling the way you do.

Not sure if this qualifies, but I was pissed off for a minute…

We are getting married in a month and that will be a 13 month engagement. We sent Save The Dates in March, about 7 months before our wedding.

So my cousin is pregnant and is due on our wedding date. No big. Life happens. Her family, her sisters family and their parents probably won’t make it. Counting kiddos, that’s 11 people.

Fast forward to a couple months ago, she posts on Facebook about an upcoming Taylor Swift concert. How much she wants her unborn son to know that she loves him dearly, even though his arrival in this world is going to cause her to miss the concert because it’s on her due date. And she’s so sad. And she gave up her ticket. Because that is what love is. Giving up a ticket to a concert so you can give birth…

UMM OK DO YOU RESENT YOUR SON FOR MISSING A CONCERT and…my wedding? Lol ok
