I hated the scenes in Dumbo where the elephants are chained and so unhappy 🙁

When Lampwick is changed into a donkey in Pinocchio was seriously traumatizing for me. The whole Pleasure Island part was just horrifying.

I say when Scar kills Mufasa because I remember sobbing in the movie theatre the first time I saw it. When I got it on VHS I always fast forwarded through that and “Be Prepared” since they were talking about killing him Cry

A close second for me would be when Bambi’s mom dies, hearing poor Bambi call out “Mother… Mother…?” is heartbreaking.

Neither is horrifying though – just what’s the saddest!

Dude Bambi’s mom being shot is traumatizing. I don’t remember being that upset about Mufasa but I was older at the time.

@KristenGotMarried: Those scenes made me so sad. I don’t know that I could watch dumbo today without being really upset by that imagery.

@KristenGotMarried: good call on Dumbo – there’s so much SKLGHKSGLHGSness in that movie, I really just can’t watch it.

@Mrs.KMM: I know, it’s so close for me! objectively i think Bambi’s mom being shot is worse but I couldn’t watch those ~15 mins of Lion King for at least a decade… Scar scarred me!

@KristenGotMarried:Ohhhhh Dumbo was so scary too. I also didn’t like the pink elephants scene in it…again, so scary! That scene reminded me of the scary hephalump and woozles (no clue how to spell those haha) songs from Winnie the Pooh…shudder.

@Running Elley: I totally had Heffalump and Woozle nightmares as a kid. How did that acid trip make it into a childs cartoon?

I used to have the worst nightmares about the queen from Snow White. She absolutely terrified me as a kid. That whole movie is pretty scary.

@LGenz:Seriously. They were absolutely terrifying. Darling Husband loved Winnie the Pooh as a kid too and he won’t even watch the shows that have those scenes with our nephews, he has to leave the room LOL.
