I did some non-wedding related shopping at AC Moore the other day and got one of the 50% off any one item coupons. I definitely want to put it to use! I’m just beginning the wedding planning process and am wondering – what was your most useful crafting/DIY item?

I *wish* I had one of those paper cutter things that measure and cut straight for you. Would’ve made these past 2 days a hell of a lot easier!

I used my paper cutter a lot! And it’s one of those crafting tools that I still use even after the wedding.

So it’s two for a paper cutter! Do you guys mean the big flat ones that have a grid on them and a giant cutter, or something else? Asking because I have access to one of those really big ones that a friend owns.

Yeah, paper cutters are pretty damn useful (but only if you’re DIY-ing paper products). Glue guns are good, too.
ETA: Most of the paper cutters people use are the small ones with the slider blade, but the guilottine ones work too. You just have to be careful to keep the paper straight while cutting.

As soon as I saw the title of this post, I thought “paper cutter!” I used mine for everything 🙂

Hot Glue Gun and sewing machine… those are my two. I don’t have a sewing machine and I feel like life could have been a lot easier if I did…

Thanks everyone! I’m going to look into getting a smaller paper cutter. This kind, right?

I have a glue gun and if any of my crafts require sewing… well, let’s just say that those aren’t the crafts for me. Ha!

Yup paper cutter (the one you chose looks perfect!), also I have used a ton of Tacky Glue lately (that is just the brand I settled on though, any glue probably)!

i agree on the paper cutter. i use mine all the time. i have a fiskars one, it’s a heavy duty one that folds. i think it’s fiskars, at least. i should check.
a clear quilting ruler is AMAZING. especially with a grid. i found mine at hobby lobby, in their quilting section. i refuse to use any other ruler (and get weird looks in school for it. not my fault people are jealous cause my lines are straight and my cuts are even).
a good x-acto knife too. i’d be lost without mine. then again, i don’t use scissors hardly ever when cutting paper. xacto and a ruler, and i’m good to go.
