Why is it that I find myself asking this over and over when it’s my very own wedding? I love my mother to pieces but all her talking around in circles is driving me crazy! It’s not that her ideas aren’t good, they are good, it’s just she has this amazing magical talent of making everything extremely complicated.
This brings me to my current dilemma, what to get her for a wedding gift. My sister decided against doing wedding gifts for the parents because it just wasn’t feasable with the budget. I, on the other hand, will do something whether it puts me under the poverty line.
Even though she drives me crazy, compares my wedding to my sisters, gets jealous when I talk too much to the Future Mother-In-Law and changes plans without my consent….she’s my mom. My mommy. The bearer of…well…me. I feel like throughout this whole process event though we’ve driven each other crazy, we’ve become closer. It’s a bonding experience for a mother and daughter to plan a wedding together. It’s something we both have looked forward to for a long long time. I need to honor that, and to honor her. I need to tell her how important she is to me and make sure she looks back on my wedding day, not just because it’s MY day, but that we went through this process together.
Ok, my first idea was a personalized hankercheif? Is it too cliche? I’m drawing a blank…… HELP!
