It’s tough, I much prefer the silhouette and style of the first one (not keen on the side pick up rouching on the second), but I think it is too sparkly and a bit over the top for a mother of the bride dress, I love the colour of the second 🙂

@llamadrama:  dress 1 is stunning and makes her figure look amazing. Not too flashy at all. Love it:))))

I think the blue one is more figure flattering on your mom and makes her look younger.

@llamadrama:  the second dress is sooo elegant and suits your body perfectly! The other is a little over the top and doesn’t flatter that lovely figure yours

@llamadrama:  I love the second dress!  The first dress is sparkly and pretty, but the second one is form flattering and very pretty.

i love the second dress … Both are figure flattering and look great on her, but I think the first one has a little too much “flash” … The second one is more elegant, subtle but beautiful without being so flashy.

The first dress is AMAZING, and the second is more figure-flattering.

I think i like the blue one better – you could always add a blingy belt if you wanted.

2nd one by a mile. It is way more flattering on her!

dress 2 looks more like a mother of the bride dress (and still has sparkles), the other one looks like a party dress and looks like it could possibly outshine yours.

I prefer the second for a MOB dress.

I like the first one.  My Future Mother-In-Law actually tried that one on in the gold/champagne version and I urged her to get it.  She wound up getting something else, but I really did love that dress.

I think the 2nd one is very plain and kind of matronly.  Your mother looks young and when else can she wear such a gorgeous sparkly dress!

OP – how formal is your wedding? Maybe that will help drive the choice for you. But if you even have an inkling that dress one is more “attention getting” thank your dress, you have your answer … go with dress #2.

If it is a very formal, black tie kind of wedding, and your gown is extremely ornate, then dress 1 might make sense. I just personally feel like it is a bit flashy, and in a semi dimly lit room, that dress WILL stand out a lot because of the sparkle factor it will kick off with every glimmer of light that hits it. just a thought.
