What are the colors of your wedding?

My colors are lavender, silver, and accent of yellow.  Since my Mom can’t find anything in lavender and yellow isn’t her color, she is going to find a nice silver suit.

I think the thought used to be that they shouldn’t wear black because it signafies mourning, and therefore that they were not approving of the marriage. However, this is a super old thought process.  I think she can if she wants too. My mother and Mother-In-Law both said they never would do that and then they explained this old thinking to me.

@SSteph903: I’ve been to a couple of weddings in the last 2 years where both of the mothers wore black.  It looked nice!

My mom wore a beautiful black dress for my brother’s wedding (it had a pretty sequin design on the top) and it looked gorgeous with the red rose corsage.

I think it’s alright for anyone to wear black to a wedding now.

My Mum IS wearing black!! And she looks stunning! At first I was worried about the colour choice, but then I was quickly assured that black does not have the same stigma that it did years ago!

    Here’s my Mum’s MOB dress!:

It’s elegant and fits with your wedding — and I’ve seen plenty of MOB wear it. I vote yes.

Yes! Why not? If they like it and it looks great, then let them wear it : )
