I have a quick question, and need an honest opinion.
My mother does not want to wear the traditional MOB attire (jacket, etc) because she is 43 and considers those ‘old lady.’ She got this dress:
Which is the same color as my bridesmaid dresses.
I’m just wondering if this is too revealing? It goes all the way to the knee on her, not above. My mom NEVER dresses up, so this is very dressy for her (we are from the deep country).
Another concern is that the MOG is gonna wear something ultra conservative and MOB ish with the jacket and all, and I don’t know if it will make my mom look bad in comparison?
I know this sounds so shallow, but I’m just starting to stess over so many things all of a sudden.
For reference my bms are wearing floor length, strapless, chiffon dresses in that plum color.

I think if she’s comfortable in it then it’s fine. If she is uncomfortable in the ones with the jackets then I wouldn’t make her wear it. I think the length is fine, just the bust line may be too revealing depending on how large her bust is

@memorialbride13: Lol, she had zero cleavage, she’s a mother of three. Nothing to worry about there anymore lol.

@Mrs.C.to.bee: lol! then I think it’s okay as long as you are okay with the color being the same as the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses? I think the dress is really pretty though.

I think you are overanalyzing the situation. No one will be judging the dresses of your mom and bridal party like that.

I personally hate what is considered “MOB” dresses and think this is a very lovely choice (assuming you’re not having a black tie affair and your BMs are also in short dresses). Let her wear what she wants!

@google: Its not black tie, but my bm dresses are floorlength and strapless, but flowy chiffon material. Its going to be a rustic wedding, not very formal at all.
@memorialbride13: Well, someone told me when we were shopping that my mom was supposed to match my party and his mom was supposed to match the guys (meaning she wears purple, and his mom wears gray)… I realize thats wrong but I should just follow through at this point lol. Of course the MOG asked if she could wear white, dunno why but I kinda lost it. No way she’s wearing white. Didn’t think I would care or be that way, but I totally care.
@mrsSonthebeach: I’m definitely overanalyzing! I have 7 weeks from today and I think that I’m going to go crazy. I’ve been calm, and usually stay calm, but I’ll lay in bed thinking crazy thoughts like ‘are people gonna think my mom is too revealing?’ ‘should I use different colors for my thumbprint tree ink? is green lame since its an october wedding? Should they be red and yello? wouldn’t they be on the ground then?’ I’m losing it, lol.
