I’ve done some searching around, but I’m having a hard time decided what to buy my Mom as a thank you gift for the wedding.
My mom has pretty much planned the whole wedding and I want to show her at least a little thanks! She’s pretty funky and no exactly a traditional mom, so a hankerchief or something like that wouldn’t be appreciated. She already has her jewelry for the wedding and I’m going to pay for her makeup…
I bought my dad a flask…and I know he’ll love it. Seriously.
Any ideas for mom?? What are you ladies doing?

What she’d probably appreciate more than anything else (or something tangible) would be a heartfelt letter of thanks from you….something tear-worthy! That was the best gift I received from MY daughters at their weddings. 🙂

I was planning to do that no matter what–I’d still like to get her something tangible, though

I have a great idea if you’re still looking

Just some random ideas:
a) a professional album of photos from the wedding and she gets to pick the shots she likes from your photography proofs
b) the heart felt letter
c) a nice mother of the bride frame and a picture of you and her in it. I’ve seen some nice wooden ones
d) an embroidered handkerchief that has a message to her or says other of the bride on it. Good for the ceremony in case she cries
e) a handmade coupon for a day of fun events just the two of you (some quality mother daughter time and you can spend the whole time enjoying the company and telling her how much what she did meant to you and how great of a job she did). Everyone has their own definition of fun. So it could be for anything from a spa day, to apple picking or hiking, to taking a cooking class together, seeing her favorite sports team, helping her with yard work and cleaning, etc. The point is that you want to show her you care about her and want to spend time with her still.
f) a holiday ornament (if that goes with your beliefs) with a pic of you and her and the words “mother of the bride”

I’m definitely still looking! My mom is not a real traditional “mom” type…she’s more….aging hippy.
Thanks for the ideas! Any one else have anything?

This is the same etsy seller that I’m thinking of getting my guest book from. It’s a unique thank you gift for parents/mob. it’s a thank you note cut out into hearts and you can personalize it.

I think a hamper filled with little things shes loves –
Is she a crafty mum? If she is you could get her a hamper filled with all crafty things, good scissors, cardstock, stamps, ribbons, buttons
Is she a cooking mum? Maybe some new cook ware, a nice mixing bowl, new oven mits?
Is she garden obessed? Maybe a birdbath?
