Where does the MOG normally get ready the day of the wedding?
I ask this question because the make-up artist asked me if I wanted to include her (MOG) in the make-up applications.
I really don’t want her to see me before the ceremony; however, if this is normal protocol, I don’t want her to feel left out.

I have had a MOG with us in the weddings that I have been in. Usually they get ready at home or in their hotel room. If she is in the same hotel as you (if you are getting ready in a hotel) then you might offer the services before the artist comes down to you.

I am including Mr.ND’s mom since he’s an only child, so she wouldn’t really get to do the fun girly parts of a wedding otherwise. However, I will make sure there’s some time of just me and my mom, and me, my mom, and my sister. I am really looking forward to that family time and the getting ready photos, but I figure if there’s a time or an appointment that all of my bridesmaids are at, Mr.ND’s mom can come, too.

@tksjewelry: Yes, she will be in the same hotel.

We’re not including her in our getting ready sessions, so she is getting ready at home. I’ve never been involved in a wedding where the mother of the groom was involved, but if my Mother-In-Law wanted to be included i would include her, but I wouldn’t pay for her makeup or hair. Too expensive.

We all got ready together, but the MUA and hairstylist came to the house where we were staying. I think you should do what you want, but it’s nice to include her if she’s interested.

At my sister’s wedding her Mother-In-Law got read with us, but she was from Out of Town and the place where she had it really only had one hotel and we were in a room at the venue.
Every other time they were either at home or their hotel
I agree that I wouldn’t want them there because personally I get high anxiety when there are a lot of people around and that will be the LAST thing that I wil need!

I asked my Mother-In-Law if she wanted to get her hair and make up done with us (my mom was too), but she preferred to go to her normal hair stylist. She did come towards the end of us getting ready though just to see what was going on. We get along great so I was glad she decided to come.

my Mother-In-Law was not around when I got ready – she did stop by for a few minutes and we took some pictures, but she was not there while I was getting my hair/make up done or putting on my dress – she got ready at her house with my Father-In-Law
