She would just a normal MOB dress or pantsuit if she feels more comfortable in that.  Most MOB and MOG (that I have noticed) try to coordinate with the wedding colors.  For example my mom is were a black dress because my Bridesmaid or Best Man are wear black dresses and FI’s mom is wearing navy blue because his Groomsmen are wearing navy blue vests.  If she doesn’t want to wear a color out of your wedding colors then what ever color she feels prettiest in should be appropriate.  Any separtment store or bridal store should be able to point you in the right direction.  Good luck and I hope she finds something she loves!!!!

My mum is giving me away, too, and she stressed hugely about her outfit, so I know how you feel! She was very aware that it would usually be a man doing it, and would be in dark colours. In the end, she’ll be wearing a pink taffeta ball skirt (not the one in the photo, but one like it) with an ivory silk blouse (very similar to the photo), and a pink and ivory hat. She had an alternate choice, that was latte-coloured and black, but she feels much happier in the lighter colours. My BMs are wearing ice-blue, and my flowers will be ivory and pink and blue, so we should look “together” if not actually matched. She was worried that if she matched she’d look like she was pretending to be a BM!

I liked the idea of her in a long skirt, but I think a pant suit would be equally pretty, if that’s what your mum is happiest in.

I’ve seen it done in knee-length skirts, and I’ve felt that looks a little odd, but that’s just me.

We were also worried about hats and veils getting tangled, but I think we’ll be ok!
