We have Mother’s Day closer to Easter here πŸ™‚ but I got my mum some pretty butterfly stencil things for her card making (she picked them out lol). Seems like she’s been using them a lot :3

that gardening mat is really pretty!

Haha I got my mom a card so far does that count!?

Seriously though, my mom and I have a very difficult relationship and she is so impossible to shop for that we usually just take her to like a plant store or something and buy her a potted plant.

That watch is super nice!! I think that both women are going to be very pleased!

I went in on a beautiful birthstone ring with my siblings for my mother. And a card. For Mother-In-Law we are getting her a card and taking her to her favorite restaurant in town. Little do they know they are getting the best present ever next weekend when Darling Husband and I announce our pregnancy to them! Luckily Mother-In-Law and my mom had already planned on Mother-In-Law joining us for a family weekend before we even knew we were pregnant!

I’m so jealous of people who can buy gifts for their moms.  Mine is pretty much impossible to shop for.  She has everything, goes shopping all the time, and her taste is rather…eclectic.  Last Christmas she received a shrunken head from my dad.  I’m not even making this up, it was a real shrunken head and it sits in a jar in their sunroom.  Soooo I’m thinking I’ll just take the easy way out and buy her brunch.

Went in with my brothers and got my mom a gift card to a really nice spa.

Not engaged or married yet, so I don’t have to buy for SO’s mom yet! πŸ™‚

Usually I get my mom super fancy tea for Mother’s Day. This year I made her a card and got her 15 mini bottles of wine to put in a display with a letter of “Happy Mother’s Day” on each bottle. We’re also taking her out to lunch and are going to tell her that she’s getting her second grandchild! Our daughter is only 9 months, so I think she’ll be pretty surprised about Baby #2 (and hopefully happy!).

It’s fun to read everyone’s ideas!

FH and I used MyPublisher to make albums for our moms.  I made an album of my Sisters trip from last year using pictures of my sister and I in Savannah and Hilton Head.  He made an album of pictures of him and his family that he had from his own albums and from photos he was able to copy when he visited his grandad earlier this year.

I got my mom an iPad. It is also her gift for the wedding as well.

For Mother-In-Law, MOther’s Day in the UK was back in April, but we got the dates confused. We remembered in time to call, but we’re sending her a US Mother’s Day gift now πŸ™‚ She is Catholic; when I was at The Vatican in February, I bought her a crucifix blessed by the Office of the Pope.

I got my mom a charm locket…basically it’s a necklace with a clear locket, and inside it has birthstones for me, my brother, and her soon-to-be grandson (due this weekend so I can be sure he’ll be a May baby and that it’s the right birthstone). It also has a little heart charm that says mom and a shamrock because she’s very into the fact that she’s Irish.

Darling Husband hasn’t gotten a thing for his mother despite me asking him about a million times. I should probably get on that…but really, I’m not too worried about it because honestly my family just puts more thought into gifts than his does. One of his birthday presents was a sign his parents have had on display in their garage with their last name on it. They took it down and wrapped it. Seriously. And no, it wasn’t anything he’d ever commented on in a way that would make them think he wanted it.

We’re having a kind of tough time making plans for this year though since our baby is due ON mother’s day…makes it tricky to make plans when I could be in labor, possible of just had a baby, or still just be super pregnant and uncomfortable.

I got my Mother-In-Law a card, we’re not very close so I thought a card was good, to show I was at least thinking of her.

My mom is a HUGE Cleveland Indians fan, so I got her tickets to a game in June for me & her to go to, and I got us a parking pass so we don’t have to worry about finding a spot, and I put a little note with the tickets that I’ll take her to dinner that night before we go to the game. I also got her a new Indians tshirt to wear to the game. She’ll love it. I think she’ll appreciate this more than flowers or a gift card etc because it’s something the 2 of us will be doing together.

My sister and I are getting my mom a big pot for the porch. It was easy, she asked for it. I’m also getting her a new chef’s knife. And i’m cooking brunch.

We (and by that I mean I) sent flowers to Future Mother-In-Law.
