My Future mother in law has trouble getting around and possibly will not be able to dance the Mother/Son dance. I feel horrible for him because I know this is something that he does not want to miss out on. Any sugguestions on how we can make a special moment for him and his mom.

Is she able to stand on her own? Maybe you could have it very early in the evening to avoid her becoming too tired. Or maybe have the mother-son and the father-daughter dances within the same song? They could go first and then he could escort her to her seat and then you and your dad could start? Or you could arrange for someone to “cut in” early on their dance, or have others join the dance floor?
Your Fiance should probably ask his mom how she feels and what she’d be most comfortable doing.
Good luck!

I’m not sure how handicapped she is, but as I was looking for photographers one of the weddings he shot had a mother/son dance where the mother had had a severe stroke a few years ago. The son was basically carrying her as he danced with her. It was one of the sweetest most touching pictures I’ve seen. He said the dance didn’t last too long (I think the DJ edited it short.) but the groom really wanted that moment.

She can stand on her own but has a lot of trouble walking and would not be able to dance. I will have him sit down and ask how she feels about the dance and if she has any alternative suggestions if she feels that she can not dance. Thanks for the suggestions please post anymore if anyone has anymore.
