So I have my dress hanging in our garage/spareroom all zipped up in a garment bag..but now I’ve started to worry that a moth is going to get in there and eat it!!
IS there anything I can put in there with it as a deterrent..it’s already been cleaned so nothing that would make it smell weird..
Has anyone had a moth eat their dress? Do they like silk?

It is good that you had your dress cleaned therefore it should be fine, but cedar deters moths.

Moths like natural fibers (cotton, feathers, fur), so I would assume silk would also fall into that category. You make want to put some cedar balls or a small cedar plank in the bag as well. They hate cedar and it smells better than mothballs 😉 I’ve also heard they hate lavendar, but I’ve never tried it. Give the cedar a light scuff with some fine grit sandpaper before you put it in. You may want to try sealing up any holes where a moth could get in, so where the hanger goes in, the top and the bottom of the zipper. Maybe some packing or duct tape would do it. Moths are awful. I’m totally paranoid about them too!!!
