I think woven hair mourning rings are really neat! I don’t have one because the ones I see on eBay or Etsy are usually quite expensive. But the sentiment behind it is unique.

That ring is gorgeous. I love the style of mourning rings though I have none. Like you, I love black onyx and other black jewellery.

I am fascinated by them and adore the sentiment behind mourning jewelry. I sort of wish the whole phenomena could make a comeback. I am adamant that when I die my collection of jewelry pieces (which must be quite enormous by then) will be split between those that are left behind and they so come to serve as a sort of “mourning jewelry”.

I don’t own a single piece of mourning jewelry. I’m not sure why. At least partly because of the high prices as

I love antique jewelry design and concepts. I had an acrostic ring made to spell “Gramps” in memory of him after he passed. Garnet, Ruby, amethyst, morganite, peridot, sapphire.

gijanedoe:  I am a sucker for mourning jewelry. This is not mine (*sigh*) but I have been stalking it for months.

MrsBuesleBee:  I’ve never heard of that acrostic concept before, but I think it is really cool!
