Yeahhhhh…. Reminds me of the time I when I was little and was playing out in the snow for hours. When I came in to change my parents were wondering what was taking me so long… It’s because when I pulled my boot off I saw an odd red jam on my toes… There had been a mouse in my boot the whole time I was playing outside!!!!! It was around Christmas time so now we refer to the situation as the time “Sandy Claws left a mouse present in my stocking”…
As many PPs have said, it was probably kitty trying to leave a nice little present for you.

@Miss Joker: my bedroom is on the third floor of our house. My shoe rack sits up against the wall below the front windows. Spiders like to make homes on the awning right out side that set of windows. So they have been known to sneak in through those windows and I constantly am killing them in that area. well because my shoes are all in that area, I can’t tell you how many times I have grabbed a pair and shook them out (habit after the first time I had a spider in my shoe) and had a spider fall out. Its a regular thing. so gross.

so we just arrived home from work and there was no mouse found today! Thank god!! The cats still seem on high alert, they obviosly have no idea we got rid of the two, according the cats their new funny playmate (mouse) is lost! i am still pretty freaked out, i couldnt sleep last night because everytime Talulah (one of my cats) jumped into bed i was afraid she would be carrying a dead mouse. The nerves definitly got to me last night.
we did get humane traps on our way home today and set this up just incase there are more.
hopefully this is the end to my little nightmare! (my shoes will still be sealed up in a container for the time being….)
OMG that is hilariously terrible, i cannot evenbegin to imagine the moment of foot out of boot to hand in boot to see what is in there… eeeekkkk

my cats used to drop live mice in the house too. my godmother’s cat who was a bit more hardcore (and they lived in the countryside) managed to drop a live hare in the house which proved to be very very hard to catch
