- Wedding: October 2013
hi bees! new poster, but i’ve read alot of posts for advice in the past 🙂
we’re getting married in october, and to save time (and $$) we are doing the ceremony and reception at the same location. We are holding it at a lodge in central ny, very cozy and rustic, definately not formal. When guests first enter, they will be seated in a small(ish) room for the ceremony. following the ceremony, the large pocket doors at the back of the room will open up into the large reception space. at that point, the wedding party (and anyone else who volunteers) will move the chairs to the tables, and what was origanally used for the ceremony will then be used as a dance floor.
i feel sort of weird having people standing around waiting for chairs to arrive at their tables, but there is no other space we could use for either the ceremony or dancing. what are your thoughts on having to move the chairs? is it totally rude and unheard of?
thanks so much for any advice, i know its a minor detail but im stressing major over the guest experience!!
