My husband and I are moving out of state next fall and will probably TTC late spring. I have open enrollment for health insurance next month and am trying to figure out the logistics of insurance if I get pregnant.
Ideally I would only be a couple months pregnant befor we leave the state and won’t get too deep into appointments at that point. If I move I think I get a special open enrollment period…does that just mean I stop paying insurance in one state but switch over to the new plan? I don’t get stuck paying for the full 12 months in the original state, right?
My husband will be self employed when we move so we will be shopping for our own insurance. I also want to use a midwife and potentially have a homebirt so I need to make sure I get the right insurance next month to cover everything. Any advice from people who have moved out of state during pregnancy would be helpful!
