My brother was stationed in Hawaii about a month after he and his then-fiancee got engaged. They planned the whole wedding (which took place in NC) from over 6000 miles away. You can do it  too!

Well, I am not a military bride but we are dealing with a similar thing…or will be. We got engaged in July and moved from CA to NY without any idea of where we were going to live. So now I am planning long distance becasue our wedding will be in CA. He is earning his MBA here so he will be graduating in June 2013 and our wedding will be August 2013 and as of right now we have no idea where we will be moving in June (but we will be somewhere) because it is all dependent upon his job offers/acceptance. It definitely adds to the stress!!

@NeNe G:  I know EXACTLY what you mean. We just got married June 2 and are moving cross-country for an October 10 report date. I told Darling Husband that I REFUSED to think about the move until after the wedding. One project at a time! So maybe you should focus mainly on the move until that’s done and you can devote more energy to the wedding? The few times Darling Husband had asked me about finding houses, researching moving trucks, etc, I nearly screamed.  Haha I had the wedding thing under control, but I was dangerously close to red-lining and adding in trying to plan a move was too much!

Even now, I won’t really focus on the move until after thank-you cards are all sent out and the apartment has been cleaned of all wedding-related piles of crap Smile

Yes. Neither Fiance or I are in the military, but yes..

within the last 2 months: got engaged, met lawyer about immigration, got told we need to push up our wedding, plan december 2012 wedding, found a house, bought the house, closing in 2 weeks, moving in 2 1/2 weeks… and Fiance works in another state and travels every week from Monday to Thursday…

so YES, I understand your stress. But as you said, it’s all AMAZING stress. Because it’s so exciting.

Keep it fun 🙂

@NeNe G:  I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
Remember that the only stories you hear are the horror stories. Somehow nobody’s interested in the smooth sailing ones… so keep it positive, and BEST OF LUCK 🙂

@NeNe G:  Lucky you!!! I am so far away from my whole wedding team its a pain! I can’t even just hang out when I visit home now (which isn’t very often) because I am always having to do a million wedding things while I am there! I am just hoping we find out where we are moving sooner rather than later! I am trying to have everything done by June before we move, because I know June/early July are going to be full of graduation and moving so I won’t even have time to think about wedding stuff. That’s my goal! When are you supposed to be moving? If its soon definitely just focus on the move then get settled and back into wedding mode, especially since after you move you will be closer to your wedding team!
