My fiancé and I have been talking about moving to get out of the town we are livin. We even talked about this on our first date over 3 years ago. We both agreed that we didn’t like our current location and wanted to move up in our careers. He had just moved to the area from Duluth and now lives 1.5 hours from family! I told him since day 1 that I wanted to move too…very badly…especially for my career.
A year ago he told me he changed his mind and wants to be within 200 miles from his family. So this seriously changed the name of the game, especially for me to advance in my career! We went from moving anywhere to only 2-3 other locations on his “approved” list.
So I talked to him last night about us taking new jobs in one of the approved locations and he seemed irritated by the idea of moving. I explained that it would benefit our future and growing family…he said “I bought this house 4 years ago and now you want to move…that’s a big sacrifice for me.”.
I was hurt because we have been talking about this for years. Because my fiancé is now “content” with his job, location close to family and those around him he no longer wants to move to help my career and to get some stability for our future family.
Am I crazy for being upset?
