I know, the title sounds bad, but it’s true, because we are! My guy and I are moving in together in 30 days 🙂 We’d been talking about it for months and then started looking about a month or so ago. We finally found a nice apartment in a neighborhood we both feel comfortable in, and it’s in our price range. So, next month, we’ll be living together 🙂
Then the other night, we were having dinner with some friends and he said something about how he has plans for when I go on my externship for school next spring (if I get the one I want, I’ll be going across the country for four months, which he fully supports). My best friend was sitting next to me and she laughed and said “I know exactly what those plans are” as he was leaving the room to get something. I looked at her and asked what, just to make sure I knew what they were referring to.
To make a long story short, apparently he’s got this pseudo plan in his head of coming down to visit me when I’m on my externship and proposing then. It’s like, on the one hand, I’d like him to propose before I go, but on the other… I’ve always dreamed of it happening there (this is literally my dream job, at my favorite place in the world, which is why I’m so gung ho about it and he’s very supportive of me getting it). So we’ll see what happens 🙂 There’s a chance I won’t even get the externship, but everyone I’ve talked to about it thinks I have the best chance of the people who’ll be applying this time around.

cupcakequeen42: Well congrats!!
SO and I just moved in together and it has been a really fun experience! I love picking things out for our house and planning our meals (even though he is the cook lol). Very exciting!
And in regards to the proposal – woo hoo! either way (whether you get the position or not) he has it on the brain and sounds like he is making plans for a ring. Your future is promising!

Congratulations! I like that he’s included your best friend in his plans; whether for her opinion on how to make it special or just allowing her to share in the excitement, both are equally sweet.
Good luck on the externship as well! How amazing it would be: dream job, dream guy, dream proposal! It sounds like there are a lot of things in your not too distant future to be excited about!

leisha606: Thank you! 😀
We’re still figuring things out as far as what we’re going to do with furniture and stuff. I’m a better cook than he is, so I usually do most of the cooking 🙂 But I’m trying to teach him some simple things, lol.
Oh, he definitely has it on the brain. I don’t think he’s making concrete plans for it just yet, but I know it’s on his mind and it’s definitely on mine. He knows I read this forum, which he’s okay with. We both know it’ll happen eventually, it’s just a matter of when.
eamxo: Thanks! 😀 My two best friends have known me for sixteen and twelve years respectively, so if he wanted to talk to someone to get ideas for making it special, it would be one or both of them 🙂
And thanks for the luck! I really hope I get it… Even if I don’t get hired on permanently after the externship (which is a possibility), I still want to do it there. But yeah, the next thirteen months are going to be a little crazy for me 🙂
