Unpack as fast as possible. Take a day off work if you can to accomplish this. I tend to be a huge procrastinator with that stuff, and when I moved into a studio apartment when I was still single I took like two weeks to unpack. It was miserable. When Fiance and I moved in together, he insisted that we get all the unpacking done that weekend (we took a day off as well). It was a LONG, exhausting weekend, but we got it done and were pretty well settled into our place by the end. I was so glad we got it all done at once!

Pack by room, and label all your boxes properly (include which “room” they should be in too!) That way you can unpack and store instead of running around trying to figure out what goes where. You can always move stuff around later 😀

Pack books in your suitcases. Books are easier to roll in the suitcase than carry in boxes.

Make sure you number all the boxes and make an inventory list (all boxes and furniture) that you keep in the car on the move so you have an easier time determining if anything gets lost.
