I’m still a little over a month and a half out from the big day, but trying to be prepared for everything…so many couples now are already officially living together that most of my friends only had to do the name change after their wedding (or in some cases their husbands moved in with them)…I am moving in with Fiance after and will be changing my name…
does anyone know if it would be simpler to officially change my address prior to the wedding and THEN change my name? or since I will be doing both at many of the same places should I just do it all at once? Maybe this isn’t as hard as I am making it out to be? I worry about the strangest things late at night!
If anyone else out there has done both I’d love to hear how it went for you!

I did the same thing. :o)
Don’t bother changing your address before you change your name. It’ll be more time, stress and paperwork. I changed my name and address all at once and it worked really well.

I would change my address now if I were you. Yes, it means doing some paperwork more than once, but I wouldn’t want to risk something not getting something important simply because I hadn’t changed my address. Also, it’s been my experience that if you change more than one thing (ie name and address) at the same time that something always gets messed up. It’s almost as though the people doing the paperwork can’t handle doing more than one change at a time.

Obviously you’ll need to give the Post Office and your bank and credit cards your new address but I’d say wait to change it on your driver’s license etc.
Usually you can just call to do an address change but a name change takes more work (I’m in the process of doing this now).
