So I didn’t catch all of the episode, but today’s Cocktails with Patrick show was dedicated to the topic of waiting! The part I caught was about Patrick’s friend (we’ll call him Mike) who had a g/f for 5 years who was totally laid back and let the Mike do what he wanted and supported him (think extreme sports and being spontaneous with buddies, not cheating) and they lived together in SC. Patrick would always be bugging his buddy about why he’s not proposing to this awesome chick who is just perfect for him and he would say he’s just not ready, things are fine as they are.
Apparently, 3 months ago, Mike’s g/f told him to find a roommate because she’s moving to NC for a great job and that it wasn’t anything about him, she would like to stay together, but she’s going to NC for her career. Mike just proposed to his g/f on Valentine’s day.
Basically, that’s Mr. Bee’s advice! Focus on you, do your own life, if your man wants to be in it, he’ll make a way to be in it!

Good for Mike’s girlfriend!

That is awesome for her! Only if I could get some of my girl friends to do that!

omg, i so heard this. but i had to go to my workout like RIGHT as he called. and right before i got out of the car, Patrick said, “I’ve got a few tips for how to hurry your man up, but I want to hear what you have to say first.”
By the time I got back in the car, the show was over.
What were Patrick’s tips?
PS: My man and I are pretty good on this subject right now. Rather than setting an ultimatum, I told him to make his own plan, set his own ultimatum, so that he feels like it’s his choice, not mine. He responded to that well. He still won’t say, “yes, we’re getting married” — he still pulls the “maybe” card — but I can tell his mannerisms have been…lovingier….lately — so I think he knows, but he just wants me to be surprised when he actually proposes.

@LoveMyDogs: There were tips?! I missed it all too! I literally just heard the part I wrote about, and then an hour & a half later, the last sentence before their guest came on who wrote a book about moving your relationship to marriage.
re-PS: I tried to get my guy to do that but he insisted that I propose a timeline! He asked for it and agreed to it, so I guess that’s his own timeline… Why do guys pull the “maybe” card?! I’m so glad to know my man’s not the only one with a “maybe” problem.

kind of off topic, but I thought I was the only one who listened to Cosmo Radio! All of my friends think that it is strange, so I was starting to think that I was all alone : )

I love cosmo radio! I loved it when Taylor would do the “almost hitched bitch”

@HoneyBear: Me too! The “almost hitched bitch” was all going on right when I was first engaged. Love it.

I thought I was the only person who listened to it too! I’m a big fan. It is the ONLY talk show I have EVER listened to, and yet I can’t turn it off. Love the morning show! (Patrick is kinda annoying b/c he’s really self-indulgent — but I appreciate his insight into the male mind.)

Oh my what were the tips?!

Ha! Proof positive that the Plan is definitely effective!! Guys are so dense sometimes… they often need a big move on their GF’s part like that to knock some sense into them!
