That is a gorgeous, gorgeous coat! I would suggest taking it to a leather specialist and seeing if they can remove the decal – depending on the kind of adhesive that was used, it may be ruined. But here’s hoping it’s not.

As for wearing it out in public after the wedding, depends on … you, your relationship dynamic, how you define yourself? IDK. It might be cute as a prop if you do an anniversary photo shoot some day, but I would probably cringe myself to death if I actually wore it out to the store or to an event or something. Same as all the “Bride Tribe,” “Bridesmaid,” etc stuff – all that goes to Goodwill as soon as the wedding is over for me. Some people, though, might feel better about it. Up to you.

If you ironed it on, you can do the reverse. Use the iron to warm up the glue and peel it off.

The glue has probably ruined the leather, especially if it’s lambskin, so even if you take off the decal you’ll likely still see the outline of the letters.  Might be worth a try anyway.  I would ask a leather specialist for advice.  If they confirm that you will still see the words even if you take off the decals, I would store it as a keepsake.  I agree it would be cringey to wear it out in public.

I’d keep it as is!  But I have quirkier taste than most.  If I didnt wear it out, I’d save it for the bedroom..

I just had another idea.  If the specialist tells you the glue ruined the leather underneath, you could take off the existing decals and get a really big one of something you wouldn’t mind wearing placed over the space where the old lettering used to be.
