MrsAKSkier:  What a great birth story… Thank you for sharing! I can only imagine that it’s challenging to find the time to write it, but I (and I think many other pregnant ladies here) appreciate it so much. I don’t feel anxious about giving birth, but I don’t know what to expect, and sometimes I think I should be more concerned about it… ๐Ÿ™‚ Your experience, and the way you tell it, is very comforting to me- your son’s birth was challenging and everything did not go according to plan, but you kept a level head and coped extremely well. I admire that. And your little boy Miles is beautiful! Congratulations to you and your husband.

Also, I’m very happy to hear that working out during pregnancy helped you. I’ve kept working out too, and I hope it will help me as well.

polarbee:  I just wanted to chime in that I think your attitude about birth is perfect! I basically didn’t think about it so I didn’t worry about it. What goes in must come out. I think my attitude, openness to the process and lack of concern about it all really helped give me a pretty perfect and very easy birth. Pushing that baby out is hard work! Your exercising will definitely come in handy. I didn’t work out at all and pushed like crazy for an an hour and a half (with a strong epi wherr I felt nothing not even pressure!) toughest work out of my life. I can imagine if I was strongER physically and had more endurance and stamina it would have been easier. The endorphins definitely help!

Wow and congratulations ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks so much for sharing. It really helps me to hear a nontraumatic birth story! It even sounds like it could have been traumatic but you have such a positive perspective that it really made a huge difference. Thank you!!!! Congrats to your family!

Congrats!  I also worked out throughout my pregnancy, though it dwindled at the end.  But I agree with you, I think it really helped during pushing!  Although I had an epidural, I didn’t mind pushing at all.  It’s like you’re on a mission.

MrsAKSkier:  Yes, I think I will take a class to prepare, and just stay relaxed… I cannot wait to meet my baby, so I’m looking forward to labor in a way. Not too soon, of course- she’ll have to stay put for another 18 weeks or so. I’m glad Miles is easygoing so far… It sounds like he is giving you time to settle into a routine with him!

MrsWBS:  Thank you! What you’re saying makes a lot of sense. While there is no guarantee of an easy labor, if you’re open to the process you won’t feel discouraged if things don’t progress as you had planned. That probably goes for the first days and weeks with baby too ๐Ÿ™‚
