I don’t have much advice as I decided to make one of my splurges my hair/mua, however there’s a gal’s blog that I SWEAR by. DrugstorePrincess is one of my many amazing Pinterest finds, and I find myself stalking her blog on a daily basis. Check it out!

Just to add to a PP above about the Smashbox primer….if you have difficulty finding a shade match in drugstore foundations (which is tricky because often they don’t have testers so make sure the return policy is good wherever you shop), you can go to Sephora or Mac (or any department store counter, like Estee Lauder) and get shade matched and ask for a sample to take home to try.  Ususally the samples are enough to last about 2 weeks so it will give you time to try it yourself and also to use on your wedding day.  I’m not a high end snob, but sometimes those brands have a wider range of shades, especially pale ones.  For longevity and range of pale shades, I would suggest sampling Estee Lauder Double Wear (I think they just re-formulated to reduce the white cast in photos), Lancome Teint Idole 24h, Nars Sheer Glow, Laura Mercier Silk Creme, Kat on D Lock-it foundation.

But as PPs have said, Colorstay is a cult icon and if the palest shade matches you then go for it! 🙂

p.s. they will also give you samples of primers etc

I second all the recommendations on the Smashbox primer!! I have similar issues with redness, and it works REALLY well for me.  Also, in terms of foundation: have you tried the Body Shop’s all-in-one foundation powder?  It’s not hugely expensive and lasts a long time.  Also, the Body Shop has pretty frequent sales!  It makes my skin look perfect, but also looks very natural.
