mich322 :  I don’t, but I LOVE that idea! I changed my ring (at FI’s urging) as he proposed with a generic ring/placeholder ring, so I don’t really have a sentimental attachment to my ring and would LOVE to change it up depending on my mood and what I’m wearing.

I recently moved to Germany and people here wear usually a simple wedding band on their right hand, so I purchased this as my “German wedding ring”. It’s white and blue sapphire from le vian. This is the ring I never take off, especially when I have to clean the house, watch the kids, etc.

… and when I want to dress up or spice things up, I wear my 10 year anniversary bridal set upgrade, as my American wedding rings. I don’t wear them often, except usually on weekends, but I feel like a million bucks when I do.

My husband proposed to me without a ring. I picked my own e-ring but I’m a person who needs a lot of time lol so my first ring I felt was rushed. I never really felt any kind of attachment to it. Since we were moving/buying a house at the time I settled and was promised a diamond in the future. First ring was cz. 5 years later I upgraded my cz center stone to moissanite and finally got the pear diamond I was waiting for. I honestly feel more attached to my pear diamond more than my original ring. I do plan on buying more diamonds in the future for heirlooms. Diamonds are addicting!

My Fiance proposed with a family heirloom- yellow gold with oval emerald in a halo and he’s insisted on getting me a separate ering (he’ll probably give it to me at our religious ceremony) – it’s a yellow/green/blue sapphire solitaire in yellow and rose gold. I’ll wear them sometime on both ring fingers or just switch between them on my left hand and we’re designing a yellow gold, a rose gold, and a platinum band that I’ll wear with them (or alone) after our big civil/legal wedding.

his mom switches what she wears on her left hand according to mood and what she’s wearing. I’ll probably do a bit of the same, but only w rings he buys for me.

I was not fortunate enough to get my dream ring on the first try (young and broke). So, I have my original, cruddy diamond that I do not wear and a morganite that is beautiful, but doesn’t quite scratch that dream ring itch.

Once I get that dream ring, it’ll be the only one I wear on my wedding finger.
