How about Sigh No More? One of the lines in it is Love, it will not betray you, dismay or enslave you, It will set you free I think that’s really beautiful. 🙂

The Ghosts That We Knew is probably the closest you’re gonna get to even something close of a first dance song.

I don’t know of any Mumford and Sons songs that would be all that good for a first dance. Maybe you could talk him into Iron and Wine instead? I know they have a handful, and while it’s not the same, it’s a similar feel.

@EffieTrinket:  I was going to suggest the same thing.  I eloped, but personally I would have used this song:

Especially because it’s 3 minutes and I don’t want people to be effing staring at me for so long AWKWARD.  (So probably why I eloped.)

Hope this helps!

I don’t know how you would dance to “I Will Wait” but the lyrics fit in more with first dance stuff. Then there’s I think the name is “Home” where the lyrics fit. Those are the two that popped into my mind.

@deetroitwhat:  that’s much better than my suggestion – I’d never heard that song before – is it on their new album?

@amysunshine:  You’re gonna love it.  I think it’s better than the first.  Holland Road is prob my favorite.

Glad someone else is consdering Not with Haste as their song.  We’ve pretty much narrowed it down to Not with Haste for our first dance.  We’ve practiced it a few times.  It’s a perfect wedding song.  Great lyrics, easy to dance to.  Best of luck with your wedding!

I absolutely love not with haste, I think I am going to walk down the isle to it.  I played it for a few friends and they said the lyrics were hard to understand, but I think and long and me and the future hubby know it, it doesn’t matter!
