A couple weeks back my doctor told me that my stomach muscles should not be as hard as they are. She said it could cause serious problems and pain in the future, because things would start getting moved around because my muscles were too tight to allow room for growth. She wrote me a prescription for muscle relaxers, but I didn’t even fill them because I thought she was crazy and my stomach was just fine.
Well, last night I went for a two mile walk with my hubby. It was the first exercise I had done since I have been on modified bed rest, but it was a beautiful night and I felt great. However, within 1.5 hours of the walk, I started having horrible feelings in my abdomen. I felt like my baby was clawing at my insides and then everything in between my stomach and ribs was caving in. I couldn’t take deep breaths in because there was not even enough room for my lungs to expand. This went on for hours and got worse and worse. The pain became so bad that I was bawling on the floor.
We finally called my doctor and she said to take a hot bath and two muscle relaxers. She said that I had used my ab muscles too much during my walk and they instantly tightened up, basically crowding my insides AND my baby. It was probably the worst experience I have had this entire pregnancy. The whole not being able to breath thing started to make me panic, and it was simply crazy. Anyways (sorry this is such a crazy long story), I ended up waking up feeling hungover today from those pills, but my stomach feels much better.
Has anyone ever heard of this before, or dealt with something similar? It seems like such a weird thing to go wrong in a pregnancy… I am kind of at a loss!!
EDIT: CAN THIS BE MOVED TO PREGNANCY?
