Can you just get a cd player or ipod deck and some good speakers and do it yourself? A couple of my friends did this – just make sure the speakers are loud enough!

I am actually having a singer/band out of Galena, Illinois (not to far from you?). The few singers I looked into ran between $300 and $400 for the ceremony and that includes music before and after. If you want her contact info. let me know. She is amazing – http://www.youtube.com/user/lexistar1001?feature=watch

Can you get a friend to play the songs on an iPod + speakers for you?

I ran the cd player for a friend’s wedding as the personal attendant. But I STRESS make sure the speakers are loud enough cuz I got ‘scolded’ to turn up the radio several times when it was already as loud as possible… something that should’ve been taken care of ahead of time.

But it was also super easy so shouldn’t be that big of thing for people to commit to? Do you have a personal attendant you can assign to do this? Or an usher possibly?
