- Wedding: October 2010
Deciding on music is absolutely driving me crazy. My fiance’ and I have unique taste when it comes to music. We both love artists like Amos Lee, Ray Lamontagne, Dave Barnes, and other acoutic songwriters. Most party bands aren’t exactly familiar with this type of music. However, I really am not loving the idea of using a DJ or tracks for my ceremony or reception. I want an intimate, coffee house like feel for our entire wedding. I’ve asked a few friends who can play guitar to sing during the ceremony.
Here’s the problem: He loves 60s and 70s music for our reception (James Brown, Al Green, etc). I feel like the funk music doesn’t quite coincide with the coffee house feel but I still want our guests to get down and have fun!
Any ideas?! In ya’lls experience, has a band learned songs you request or do they charge a massive fee? I am stressing out bigtime!
