So I have to call our organist this weekend (hopefully tomorrow) to discuss music choices with her and I just realized I have NO IDEA what music I want her to play! Our church is very traditional unfortunately so I don’t have the ability to choose more modern songs or I would. What are some good traditional songs that can be used for things like the processional, bridal party walking in, recessional, etc? We are thinking Canon in D for when I walk in because my fiance loves it, but I need serious help because I know virtually nothing about these types of songs! Please give me some suggestions! TIA!

If you look on Amazon for Wedding Ceremony music cds, you’ll get a ton of hits that usually have a sample of the music. That’s what helped us choose what we wanted to play. Here’s an example:
Also, you might want to ask your organist. If she has performed weddings before she probably has a list of songs she normally plays or are usually requested for traditional ceremonies.

We hired a harpist, she had a bunch of suggestions. We too were lost as to what music so we pretty much stuck, well we loved, her selections.

Thanks ladies, I spent hours last night googling it and came up with some good song selections- only to talk to her today and for her to say "Oh, I thought I sent you the list! I’ll mail that to you right away." Sigh… so, while I likely wasted some time, at least now I’ll have a list!
