I was thinking Hozier’s “Work Song” played on the piano with my two female cousin’s singing it and then ommitting the verse about the empty crib. But then I was worried about it being too dark. Our wedding theme is dark vintage romanctic. But idk… maybe some bees can weigh in. It does sound a bit less eerie with female voices.

I went to a wedding where they played the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” when the bride walked down the aisle.

(and other ones are more goofy and probably too specific to the couple for you to use–the theme from “Empire Strikes Back” and Blur’s “Song 2” and stuff like that)

I plan on walking to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s rendition of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight.” I didn’t want to do Here Comes The Bride either.

As I am a music major from way, way back and never stop singing, I’m more excited about the music than any other aspect of the wedding save the getting married part.

Processional is “The Winner Is” by DeVotchka from Little Miss Sunshine http://youtu.be/7655cAA_CTg

And Recessional is a cover of Music for a Found Harmonium which you’ll recognize from Napoleon Dynamite http://youtu.be/PltA5woXKaA

I walked in to “One Hand, One Heart” from the musical West Side Story. Kind of obscure, but really beautiful and perfect for a wedding, as it is from the scene where Tony and Maria marry each other in the dress shop! It’s actually a short piece of music, too.

EMDEsq:  Musical freak here:  LOVE!

My first wedding all my music was from musicals including the church choir singing “Love Changes Everything” as our recessional.  Beautiful wedding.  Horrible marriage.  Ha!

We used the acoustic version of everlong by the foo fighters. Everyone loved it!

I know I am a geek, but I kinda wanted a May 4th wedding with the Imperial March as my entrance song. Of course, my finace isn’t a Star Wars fan like me so we decided on May 7th and our soung will be the accustic version of “Love of a Lifetime” by Firehouse. I was able to get “Now I See The Light” from Tangled on piano to play during the reception. It’s beautiful.

I liked this one for two reasons: it starts out all formal and wedding-y and then peps up to something more fun and our style.  Additionally the Comancheros was filmed around Moab, where we got married, so a fun tie-in.

The piano cover of “First day of my life” by Bright Eyes. It’s one of our songs, reminds us so much of the night we met. We didn’t want vocals though and the piano version is beautiful. We have a small wedding party so everyone and myself will walk down to it.
