On our music selection sheet, we have to choose a musical selection for “After Vows”. Is this to be played during the blessing and exchange of rings? Or at some other time? We’re not having a mass so it won’t be during the preparation of the gifts or anything.
Thanks! I’m writing my program and this part is confusing me.

At the last Catholic wedding I attended, the priest blessed the rings out loud as they were being exchanged, so it doesn’t make sense to me to have music playing over the priest’s voice. When I met with my organist, I asked her the same thing and she said it would be after the rings were already exchanged, and nothing really goes on during that part of the ceremony, and I didn’t want people just sitting around listening to a song so I decided to skip that part altogether!

We were asked for a music choice for some random time too, basically while people are just moving around. It wont be a whole song, so we are just going to have the organist play something classic.
But we are also going to have a reflection song after the vows (also not having a full mass) just because I love my vocalist. She will be singing Ave Maria.

It is like filler music- for when things are being done around the church

We were told to have one. We will all just sit and listen and meditate on being married. Our priest says that we will like it.
We are having her sing Set Me As a Seal
Still not sure what to be sung for the signing of the register.
